Lucy Is Happy With Her Mother - SCENARIO:
Lucy's parents made sure that Lucy had everything she wanted in life. She was never disappointed by her parents. She was a very happy child. Unfortunately, when she was 21 years old her father passed away. Her father was killed in an airplane crash. Her father always told Lucy always live happy. You don't have to impress the world. You just have to live your happiness. Lucy keeps that on her mind all the time. Lucy lives with her mother because she doesn't want her mother to feel alone. Lucy and her mother are very close and they do everything together.
It has been 4 years since her father died and Lucy's birthday is only two days away. Lucy is making plans for her birthday to go to Hawaii with her mother. Lucy is super excited because she knows she will have an awesome time with her mother. As Lucy is planning for her birthday she receives a phone call from her friend Jenny. Jenny says, “Hey girl, I have some plans for you on your birthday. You are going to be super excited. I have a camera man and everything. You only get to be 25 only once.” Lucy is a little surprised and says, “Um, what do you mean? I have plans already. Like…my mom and I are going to Hawaii. We are going to have a blast.” Jenny quickly replies back, “You and your mom. Don't you want the world to see you have fun with your friends on your birthday? This is going to be on all social media and I paid for a camera man. Why would you want to go with your mom?” “Well, the reason why I want to go with my mom is because it makes me happy and I love hanging with my mom,” says Lucy. “The world is going to see you Lucy. All your friends are going to be there. You can't turn this down. I put so much money into this,” says Jenny. Lucy is getting frustrated but she still has a smile. She says bluntly, “Well, I really don't care about the world seeing me and plus, I didn't tell you to do this. You should have asked me first. I am going to Hawaii with my mom, final answer. I will talk to you later.” Lucy hangs up the telephone and while she is hanging up she thought about her father's words and just smiled.
Its a day before her birthday and Lucy gets a visit from her friend Macy. Macy is outside in her car and Lucy walks to Macy's car. Macy is excited to see Lucy. Macy asks Lucy, “Why aren't you coming to your own birthday party? Jenny did a lot for you.” Lucy starts to laugh and she says, “Jenny....everyone is talking about what Jenny wants. What about what I want. I mean, I didn't tell her to do it. She never told me or asked me did I have any plans. I don't care about the world watching. I do care about having fun and being happy. I want to live and try new things. I am going to Hawaii.” “Wow, are actually going to Hawaii with your mom instead of hanging with your friends?” says Macy. “YES,” yells Lucy and walks back to her house. As Lucy is walking to her house Macy drives off.
Finally, its the day of Lucy's birthday and Lucy is very happy. Lucy sees and her mother with a birthday cake in her hands and says, “Happy birthday honey. Your father would be so proud of you. I'm proud of you. Honey, you don't have to take me to Hawaii with you. You can go with one of your friends, if you want. Now blow out your candles.” Lucy blows out the candles and hugs her mother and says, “Daddy always told me to be happy and I don't have to worry about the world to make me happy. I create my own happiness. That means hanging with my mom in Hawaii is creating my happiness. I love hanging with you mom. Now put down that cake and let's go and catch this airplane.” Lucy and her mom drives to the airport, and gets on the airplane. They arrived in Hawaii and they are having a great time. This is the best birthday for Lucy.
THE TRUTH:
Don't let your happiness be in other people hands, they determine when you can be happy. You have to free yourself and be responsible for your happiness. The next time you want to look for happiness, take a look at yourself in the mirror. That reflection is the one who is responsible for your happiness.
Many people realize happiness is a choice and it's up to them to intentionally choose it every single day. People are not held hostage by their circumstances, its a choice to be happy and find happiness. Fully experiencing it still requires a conscious decision to choose happiness each day.
CONCONCLUSION:
You have a choice to be happy. Don't let other people create your happiness. You don't have to live for the world. You have to find your happiness and live for you. You can be in your own little world of “Happiness.”
