Donna wants a hug - SCENARIO:
Donna is a single woman who has a boyfriend named Jeff. Jeff never pays attention to Donna. He is very selfish and always thinks about his needs and wants. Every time Donna talks about herself, he never listens to her.
One day Donna comes home from work and she had a very bad day. She walks in their apartment and sees Jeff sitting on the couch in the living room playing his video game. She walks over to Jeff and sits down beside him. As soon as Donna sits down Jeff says, "Hey babe, I was waiting for you to come home. I'm starving." Donna replies back, "I just got home and you want me to cook dinner." Jeff didn't hear a word that Donna said. He keeps playing his video game. "Are you listen to me?" asks Donna. "I had a rough day today and I do not feel like cooking," says Donna. Jeff stops playing his video game and stares at Donna. "What do you mean? You are not cooking. I'm starving, plus if you cook, later I have a surprise for you," says Jeff. Donna is so upset with Jeff that she didnt know what to say. She stands up and walks outside and sits on the steps in front of their apartment. Jeff continues playing his video game. While Donna is outside sitting on the steps, she sees her next door neighbor outside named Stanley. Stanley waves at Donna and Donna waves back. Stanley notices Donna is looking a little upset. He walks over to Donna and asks, Are you ok?"Donna replies back, "Yep, I'm fine." As soon as Donna said she is fine tears starts rolling down her face. Stanley didn't know what to say to Donna so he hands her some tissue to wipe her face. He decides to sit down beside Donna. "It looks like you are having a rough day," says Stanley. Donna wipes her face with the tissue Stanley gave to her. She looks at Stanley with red eyes and says, "I am having one heck of a day. Jeff isn't paying attention to me which he never does. I had a bad day at work today. Jeff waited for me to come home and cook. He didn't ask me how my day was nor ask me anything. All he wants to do is play his video game and talk about himself. All he wants from me is sex. He makes me feel so unappreciated." "Well Donna, I'm truly sorry how your day is going and I am sorry for what you are going through but I know what I can do to help just a little bit. I must say you are appreciated. I appreciate you for just being an amazing person." Stanley stands up and tells Donna to stand. Donna stands up but clueless why Stanley wants her to stand. Stanley gives Donna a huge hug and tells her, "Sometimes you need a hug to know you are appreciated." Donna smiles and hugs Stanley back. After they hugged Stanley tells Donna to lift her head up she will have better days and walks away. Donna walks back in the apartment and Jeff is still playing his video game. As Donna is walking to their bedroom Jeff looks back at Donna and says, "Where are you going?" Donna didn't say a word she just keeps walking into their bedroom. Donna feels really good and all she needed was a hug to know everything will be okay. Donna knows that if Jeff doesn't appreciate her, she knows that Stanley does.
THE TRUTH:
A hug usually demonstrates affection and emotional warmth, sometimes arising from joy or happiness when reunited with someone or seeing someone absent after a long time. ... Moving from a handshake (or touch-free) relationship to a hug relationship is a sign of a closer friendship.
Why do people hug?
We hug others when we're excited, happy, sad, or trying to comfort. Hugging, it seems, is universally comforting. It makes us feel good. And it turns out that hugging is proven to make us healthier and happier.
CONCONCLUSION:
Sometimes a person might just need a hug. You never know what a person goes through. That one hug might make that person's day. Learn to pay attention to your partner. Your partner can be having the worst day and all they need from you is a hug and a little bit of your attention. Remember, one day you may need a hug.
